Blazingly fast broadband 2 speeds are now achievable.
With little or no fanfare, Colours has upgraded its broadband connection to ADSL2+. Speeds up to 12Mb per second are now a reality.
With ADSL2+, transfer speeds up to 24Mb/sec are technically feasible, but because the signal is carried over copper wires, the speed is reduced as the distance from the exchange increases. Our premises are about 1500 metres from the Newtown exchange, so our peak transfer speed is reduced to around 12Mb/sec.
Nonetheless, this is nothing to complain about! Web-surfing is now a real joy. Emails are almost instantaneous. And FTP transfer of large files (which we and our customers both do a lot of) is amazing.
