Some significant changes are happening here at Colours.
As both Colours and Vertifix are currently geared up to provide similar services, we anticipate almost no disruption to the supply of printed materials, although there are bound to be some unforeseen hiccups – so please bear with us.
Most equipment will be moved at the end of May 2017. Pre-press and design services will continue to operate from our Marrickville office until the end of June 2017, at which time we will move to a new studio in Annandale, Sydney.
All our communication channels – phones, mobiles, faxes, emails, etc – will remain the same through these changes, and will continue unchanged in the future. However, all Colours staff will also be contactable through Vertifix phone numbers and emails.
Stefan Kovar will become General Production Manager of the combined venture, and the same people will be printing and finishing your jobs, on the same equipment as before. There will, of course, be additional people in our joint production team, and I am sure you will get to know them over the coming months. In most cases, Nerida, Mark and I will continue to be your first points of contact for quotes, questions, design, prepress and overall workflow.
We are excited about these changes, as it allows us to offer some new products, including digital foiling; increases our capacity for throughput; and lets us provide a range of other services, such as mail processing and lodgement, web design and development, as well as project management and procurement. I’ll be sending more information about all these in the next few weeks, after the dust has settled.
The sad news is that Ellie, who has been with us for several years (as estimator, receptionist, table-hand, staff morale officer, first aid officer, and general roustabout), has decided to pursue a new career and has enrolled as a student of Fashion Technology. We will miss her – but I am sure she will not miss the stress and deadlines of working in digital printing. She may still work with us a day or two here and there, so don’t be surprised if you see her name on an email, probably sending an invoice or chasing payment!
