Nerida Cunneen has once again won an award for her performance in her TAFE Sydney Institute Graphic Prepress Course.
The DG Design Award for third place overall in Stage 2 of the Graphic Prepress Trade Course was presented to Nerida last night in Turner Hall at the Sydney Institute TAFE at Ultimo.
Last year, she won a similar prize for her performance in Stage 1 of the course, so it appears that she is “on a roll”.
With only a few months left of her formal coursework, Nerida will then have to complete the on-the-job component of her course to be awarded her certificate and to become a qualified trades-person in Graphic Arts.
Keep up the excellent work, Nerida.

The awards ceremony, held in historic Turner Hall at the Sydney TAFE campus in Ultimo, celebrated the achievements of the next crop of printing industry professionals, with categories across pre-press, printing, screen printing and finishing.
The night was sponsored by PMP, and the group’s NSW general manager, Sean Rooney, delivered the keynote speech, saying there had never been a wider range of opportunities within the printing industry.
“People say that because of technology, printing is dying. Nothing could be further from the truth.”
Rooney said that while “you used to just have pre-press, printing and binding”, the modern technology-driven industry includes roles as diverse as supply chain to robotics to QR codes to photography and design.
Ultimo College is celebrating 120 years since it was established, and associate director Alison Wood gave a glimpse of the school’s printing roots, with lithography on the curriculum since day one.
