IPEX 2010 and beyond…

In May this year, John and Lyne travelled to Birmingham, UK to attend IPEX.

Leaving at the height of the Icelandic volcano eruptions, we were unfortunate to be diverted to Amsterdam and had to face several hours of waiting in queues before finding alternative transport through northern Europe, under the channel and on to Heathrow to pick up our car. Driving through the night to Birmingham was not a pleasant experience, but it was made up for by the standard of the B&B we stayed at.

Four days of trapsing up and down the halls of the Birmingham Convention Centre was exhausting. And it was punctuated by a full 24hrs of illness, during which Lyne did lots of sightseeing while John stayed in bed, sick as a dog.

Nonetheless, the experience was worthwhile – especially the opportunity to see the prototype of the Konica Minolta C8000 (which we are likely to get at the end of the year).

After the trade show ended we spent several days recuperating in the south of Wales – enjoying the food, the horse-riding and the whisky – but not enjoying the heat!
